Tonya D. Carter-Clary brings over 25 years of experience in general civil practice, with a strong emphasis on contract law and litigation support. As Of Counsel to The Law Office of Rachelle D. Carter, PLLC, she contributes her extensive legal knowledge and professional insight to support client advocacy and strategic case development.

Tonya assists in all phases of legal service—from providing training to paralegals and reviewing evidence to drafting documents and preparing for trial. She frequently conducts virtual mediations, depositions, and court appearances, ensuring seamless representation in today’s remote legal environment.

In addition to her role with the firm, Tonya maintains an independent legal practice where she has advised clients since 2007. Her earlier leadership of Tonya D. Carter & Associates, PLLC included managing civil litigation, negotiating business disputes, and offering compliance guidance to reduce liability and risk exposure.

Tonya also has a strong background in publishing and digital communications. She has served as an executive editor and social media strategist, combining her legal expertise with sharp editorial skills to enhance visibility and engagement for both legal and nonprofit organizations.

Tonya earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA.
